Q: I want to join a course next week. Are there any places still available?
A: Courses are run all year round and last minute bookings are usually available.

Q: How do I register for a course? And how can I determine my level in the language?
A: Through your travel agent or by visting our website Click Here where you can take our online assessment test. Alternatively, you can take the assessment test on the first day, where an informal oral test is also administered.

Q: Do I need to bring any course material with me?
A: This is not necessary as the school provides this. However, if you have booked an individual course and would like to cover something very specific, it is highly recommended that you do so.

Q: Do I have to book accommodation and transfers through your school?
A: No, not necessarily, but we can arrange accommodation in the school residence, guest houses, hotels, hostels, apartments and selected host families. Click Here . We normally offer accommodation within walking distance of the school or on the main bus route. It is recommended that requests for accommodation are receive well in advance particularly in the summer months (July-September) which is the peak tourist period in Malta. We can also organise transfers on arrival and departures.

Q: Is your school accredited with any organisation?
A: ELA is fully licensed by the Malta Ministry of Education, approved by the Ministry of Tourism, is accredited by FELTOM and an affiliate school of LSI international.

Q:Can I sit for any examinations in Malta?
A: Recently we have been appointed TOEFL iBT Examination Centre by ETS.Currently we are the only centre on the island to offer this new version of this popular exam. You can sit for the full range of Cambridge examinations, IELTS and TOEFL. Full free assistance is provided for registration.

Q: What if I require a visa to enter Malta?
A: It is strongly recommended that you check that all your travel documents are in order before travelling and also see if you require a visa to enter Malta. We offer full visa support..

Q: What facilities are available to communicate with my family back home?
A: The school provides internet service free of charge. Free WiFi is also available at the school for students.

Q: Do I need to book activities in advance?
A: No, there is no need. You can book your activities at the school's office.

Q: How do I pay for the course and accommodation?
A: In order to confirm the course and reserve the accommodation we will require a deposit of fifty percent. We will require your credit card number and expiry date in order to effect deposit. It is also possible to pay deposit via bank transfer. The balance is to be paid upon arrival at the school.

Q: What is the currency used in Malta?
A: Euro is the currency of Malta.

Q: How are classes made up?
A: Our group courses consist of a maximum of six students in winter and ten in summer, except for business and examination courses where a maximum of six students attend throughout the year. We have also introduced an Everday English group course, maximum six students, during the summer months. Our teen summer classes are of a maximum of 12. This makes ELA a school with one of the best teacher/student ratios on the island. Students are placed in groups depending on their level, age and nationality. Care is taken to have a variety of nationalities in each class thus maximising the students’ chances of using the language and making the ELA experience a unique one.

Q: How big is the school?
A: The school’s policy is to try to provide a professional yet personalised service to all our students. In this way we are always in a position to achieve since our school is relatively small when compared to most of our competitors with a maximum capacity of 350 students during the peak summer season.

Q: How far away is the school from the city centre?
A: ELA is dead in the centre of the most commercial and busy residential and touristic town of Malta, which is Sliema. Sliema is on the seafront and has a wide selection of cafes, boutiques, shops and hotels. Bus service connects Sliema with St. Juliansquo;s (which is where evening entertainment is concentrated) and the capital Valletta.

Q: Do you offer courses for children?
A: Yes we do. Courses are available for people from as young as 4 years old.
